NSC Joins OSHA Alliance Focused on Preventing Serious Workplace Incidents

The national partnership will develop training and resources to help employers identify hazards that could cause severe injuries or deaths.

Employers, workers and safety professionals are the intended beneficiaries of OSHA's National Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention Alliance, which brings together the National Safety Council (NSC) and other safety organizations.

The alliance will focus on identifying and eliminating high-risk hazards that could lead to serious injuries or fatalities. Participants will develop and distribute prevention resources, recommended practices, training and other guidance.

Other participating organizations include the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the American Society of Safety Professionals and the University of Colorado Boulder's Construction Safety Research Alliance.

NSC said the initiative will emphasize recognizing workplace conditions with the greatest potential to cause severe harm before an incident occurs.
